Michou von Beschwitz is a German photographer living between Germany and Spain. Never without her camera, she travels the world seeking to capture nature’s glory, vulnerability and it’s ceaseless scope. Through her photographs, she hopes to create awareness and promote the conservation of animals, particularly those on the brink of extinction.
Trained at London’s Black and White School of Photography, she has since exhibited her work in London and Spain. Exhibitions include ‘Bajo el Cielo Andaluz’ at the Museo Vida Rural in Tarragona, at the ‘Reial Cercle Artistic’ in Barcelona and ‘Things to die for’ at Galería Nando Arguëlles, Sotogrande. Other notable exhibitions include ‘Mexico Meets Morocco’ at The Tabernacle and ‘Women Eyeing Men’ at David Gill’s Gallery in London.
In October 2022 Munich became a photo art hotspot! The premiere of the “Hendrik teNeues Photography Award” and a charity auction were celebrated at the Residenz Munich, as part of the highlights of the Munich International Art Fair. Michou von Beschwitz participated with some of her works which were auctioned in aid of up-and-coming young talented photographers.
In 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 she was shortlisted for the Natural History Museum’s prestigious ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. She was also shortlisted for the 2018 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards. She had publications in various magazines.
